Granite Canyon General Store

Granite Canyon General Store takes its name from the historic name of Eleven Mile Canyon - Granite Canyon. The store is located on the original property once owned by George Frost – Lake George’s founder and namesake. The store itself is made up of two stand alone buildings tied together; one served as the Lake George Post Office from 1910 to 1989 and the other was built in the mid 1930's and was the Lake George Roller Skating Rink and Dance Hall.  The store has been continuously operational as a General Store since at least 1910.

Granite Canyon General Store has incredible historic photographs of the Frost Mansion and Lake George Hotel, the Lake George ice mining operations from the early 1900's as well as historic photos of the Colorado Midland Railway in Granite Canyon from the late 1800’s.

We have a full liquor store featuring Colorado beer and spirits, groceries, sandwiches, camping gear, fishing tackle and bait, apparel, unique gifts, souvenirs and much, much more!
